“Why is my music an exciting choice to listen to?
Because my music can represent Javanese culture and marry modern music, in this case, acoustic music. Why acoustic? Because it’s original, closer to nature, and per my soul and preferences. Why are the lyrics in Javanese? Because the songwriter feels more able to animate and convey the song’s message when singing it, apart from the fact that the writer is Javanese. I also mean this to introduce Javanese culture and language to the international community through songs that align with our nation’s vision and mission to promote Indonesian culture on the international stage.”
What best describes your music style, and why so?
“My music style is pop, rock, and ballad. Because firstly a long time ago I grew up in those culture of music. And I like to package it into acoustic music, not all of my songs but almost all. But I often made an “experiment,” which I would focus on, and I’m just flowing and enjoying every one of them.”
What initiated your love and passion for music, particularly your style of music?
“My spiritual journey, that’s initiated me to write those songs. So, my challenge now is expressing spiritual things in popular terms or lyrics.”
Who would you work with if you could collaborate with one or two artists? Why and how so?
“Firstly Enau, because he is creative, and his music is unique and contains social advice or critics. Secondly, Payung teduh, because their music is unique and has a character.”
When do you feel your music has become more than just a passion but a serious career path? Why so? What has drawn you to pursue music, and why?
“During this pandemic, I can’t separate my hobby and my duty in life, which is to obtain some income for my family. These two things are one and depend on each other. But above all, my spiritual journey will be my main reason for pursuing music. I want others to be impacted because of my spiritual motivation or background behind my songs.”
Where would you love to perform if you could pick any venue worldwide?
“Firstly, some cafes or music corners in Jakarta or other big cities in Indonesia. Secondly, it will flow wherever it goes.”
Where can we find your music, and why should we? What will make your music iconic for us in these times?
“In Spotify, Facebook and YouTube mainly, or other music stores.
