New York City, February 19, 2025 – The highly anticipated short film Mom, Is That You? is set to captivate audiences with its unique blend of humor and heartfelt storytelling. Directed by Alex Notkin, the film explores the complexities of family relationships through a witty and emotional lens.

Bringing his award-winning expertise to the project is Albert Rudnitsky, the film’s Director of Photography. Rudnitsky previously worked on the acclaimed feature Anora, which won the Palme d’Or at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, received six Oscar nominations, and earned the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. Additionally, Anora’s lead actress, Mikey Madison, won Best Leading Actress at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) among seven other BAFTA nominations. Rudnitsky’s skillful cinematography adds depth and visual richness to Mom, Is That You?, elevating its storytelling with a distinctive style.

Leading the cast is Liora Kats, delivering a standout performance in the film’s central role. Born in the Netherlands to a Dutch father and Ukrainian mother, Kats grew up in a multicultural environment that shaped her artistic perspective. She made her feature film debut at age twelve and later gained international recognition for her role in Nickelodeon’s Hunter Street. A graduate of the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York City, Kats is a dynamic and versatile performer. Her impressive body of work includes numerous award-winning productions, and she was recently nominated for Best Actress for her role in Reagan.
