What are some upcoming projects you’d be working on? With who?
“My next project is Anastasia the musical with Lighthouse Repertory Theatre: a dream come true, as it has been one of my favorite musicals for years. This musical holds a special place in my heart, and I feel so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it and bring it to life. I will be acting, singing and dancing on it, so it is going to be a lot of fun.”
Do you have any announcements in regards to your career as an actress in NYC?
“I have been working on a one woman show written by a very talented playwright named Laura Garcia, from Spain. It is a project that started back in 2022 and it is an ongoing process, we really want to do great work with it and make sure the outcome is what we envisioned from the beginning, as the plan is to tour in both the States and Spain. It is the most ambitious project for me so far. The piece is a realistic–fictional work inspired by my experiences as a Spanish actress navigating the challenges of surviving and thriving in New York City’s artistic world. I am also considering expanding my acting career to other parts of the United States in the future — the “when” and “where” are still in the making.”
What motivates you?
“Learning something new and just being a learner in general is a big part of who I am. Art and learning are my greatest motivators. Performing arts, music, theatre, cinema, literature — these are what fuel me as both an artist and a human being. Music, in particular, holds a special place in my life. These fuel me and feed my soul both as an artist and as a human being.”

If you could pick out two of today’s most relevant tv shows, or musicals, or theatrical/film projects to be a part of, what two projects are you immediately
interested in?
“I am drawn to stories with emotional depth, strong yet flawed characters, and themes that resonate deeply. I would have loved to be a part of Breaking Bad, The Last of Us and also literally any type of musical (theatrical or movie musical), it is hard for me to choose as I love the genre so much. I recently watched Sinners and I found it fascinating, as it explores the transformative power of music, among other themes, so as a music lover that spoke loudly to me.”
How do you prepare for upcoming auditions or roles these days?
“Physical and mental preparation are essential to my craft. Before auditions, I warm up my body through stretching and dance to stay loose and calm. I meditate to center my mind, but above all, the most important thing is preparation. I prepare meticulously — through voice lessons, acting coaching, character exploration, and establishing clear objectives. In the audition room, I live fully in the character, it is my chance to play with that character. Once it’s over, I let go. Knowing I gave my best and feeling that sense of accomplishment is one of the most rewarding parts of this profession. The feeling is indescribable.”

Where can we learn more about your work, and why should we? What makes Julia Navarro an incredibly iconic actress for our times?
“You can follow my journey on Instagram at @julita.navarro11, where I share updates on my artistic work. I think empathy is one of my greatest strengths as an actor, and I find it a must. I feel like it has been shaped by my travels, my European roots, and my ability to truly step into someone else’s perspective. Telling stories that have an impact on the audience is crucial for me. I am deeply sensitive and able to convey a wide range of emotions, and my goal is to tell stories that move and inspire audiences, the same way so many artists have inspired me and continue doing so.”
Anything to add here?
“I am very excited to see where my acting career takes me and I am very open to any possibility or opportunity that life throws at me, as long as it contributes to my growth as an artist, and more importantly, as a person. I believe in embracing change, taking risks, and keeping a growth mindset, which I find crucial in this business. This industry demands openness to new opportunities, and I welcome any path that allows me to grow, not only as an actor but as a human being.”
