Written by: Mercedes Barreto
What was your first moment in photography as a child? Where did you first get the calling to pursue this? Or at some moment in life?
“I remember I got a Barbie film camera and brought it everywhere to take pictures of random things. I still have the developed photos in my room. Looking back at them made me remember how much I enjoy them.”
Who are two or three people that have motivated you on this journey, possibly since earlier on?
“My Aunt AnnMarie, who’s done photography all her life, my professor from college Cathy Vaneria who taught my photography classes, and my friend/old co-worker from Fantasy Flash, Nora White.”
What was your first camera, and why that one?Â
“My first/current camera I own is the Canon Rebel T6. It’s a nice light camera that takes great pictures!”
Where was your first professional photoshoot?
“When I photographed my first bridal shower after I graduated college.”
Do you believe you have improved since the very beginning? Why and how so?
“Working with other photographers and working at other companies with photography improved my skills and made me feel more confident and comfortable with my clients.”Â
What are some sensations that bring you back to that time? What words can you use to describe such nostalgia?
“I love being a big part of someone’s special day, photographing the little moments to reflect on. It’s an excellent feeling to capture precious memories.”Â
Where do we find your work, and why should we?
“You can find it on my website, www.jessicapaternoster.com, my Instagram, @jpaternoster_graphix, or Facebook, JP Graphix.”
