Discover a rising talent that will astound you with a voice for the ages. We read up on Jessica Paternoster and her recent success in this introductory rising talent article.

What is the best way to describe your style regarding your musical workings?

“People say I give off a Pop Rock style. I agree with them. I always grew up as a rock n roll girl listening to classic rock music from my parents and modern pop music listening to the radio in the car. Other styles of my songwriting are Singer/Songwriter and Ballads.”

What has always been your most crucial inspiration when you create music?

“I am inspired by many other well-known female artists. This is true, especially when I write similar songs to artists such as Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Adele, Pink, Colbie Caillat, Sara Bareilles, Katy Perry, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Emeli Sande, Evanescence, The Pretty Reckless, and Halestorm. When I write songs, I listen to certain songs I like and want to create melodies that sound similar to them, but my version, of course. Even their lyrics are inspirational in that they tell a story. My songwriting is telling a story for relatable real-life scenarios. I want people to listen to my songs on their good or bad days, which will put a smile on their faces. I want to be the reason people’s bad days can turn into good with my music. Whenever I feel sad, I listen to a lot of ballads and inspiring music, which helped me with what I went through in life. Music and singing have always been very therapeutic to me.

That’s the type of artist I want to be.”

If you could pick one of your songs that best resonates with the listening crowd, which song do you feel is most heard or most popular, and why?

“Lately, I’ve been singing “Always Remember Us This Way” by Lady Gaga (Star Is Born) a lot because it’s such a passionate, touching song. It’s good for my range that I feel comfortable singing, and people say I sound like Lady Gaga when I don’t try to sound like her. I’m only me. A lot of people love when I sing that song at open mics.”

If two of your songs could be showcased globally for a half hour on all mediums worldwide, what two songs would you pick instantly?

“My two original songs, “The Shadows Within Me” and “My Own Worst Enemy,” because they are solid ballads, and I feel like people can relate to both songs. Nobody has heard both songs because they have yet to be released on music streaming platforms. Still, they will soon, so stay tuned for those upcoming releases. In November, I recently sang “The Shadows Within Me” at The Ridgefield Playhouse.”

Where have you performed in the past? What are some highlight performances?

“My most notable performances have been in November, singing my original song “The Shadows Within Me” at the Ridgefield Playhouse. I sang for my friend’s band three years ago, performing a cover of Holy Diver by Dio at The Chance Theatre in Poughkeepsie. I recently sang at a Christmas acoustic show at Tequila Escape in Ridgefield, CT. In addition, I have been going to open mics all around Westchester/Putnam/Fairfield County. Starting January 2023, I already have a few gigs for myself and my band SplatterHead. I know there’ll be many more upcoming gigs for me and SplatterHead to perform at many bars/restaurants/music venues. I hope one day to perform at Madison Square Garden, TD Garden, Sofi Stadium, and many more music venues! That would be a dream come true.”

Who in the industry would you be honored to work with if you could pick any one professional? Why and how so?

“I’m always open to collaborating with any musician. Of course, it would be fantastic to collaborate with the well-known musicians/bands I listed one day. Still, there is someone who I definitely would love to work with in the long run, and someone who inspires me a lot with music is my boyfriend, Daniel Madeson. He is super talented with his singing, songwriting, and guitar/piano playing. Watching him doing gigs all over inspires me to want to do that as well. His songs are so beautiful that it makes me cry. I want to write songs that make people get goosebumps in a good way. I look at my boyfriend very highly as a musician, and I look up to him and hope to be successful in music just like him. Daniel and I have had this chemistry when we sing together on stage or on our own since we met. In the future, he and I can do gigs together and work a lot together in the music industry since we have this amazingly romantic and musical chemistry. Music is what brought us together, and it will continue to make us both stronger together.”

Where can we find your music, and why should we? What makes Jessica Paternoster and her music so iconic?

“I post many videos of me singing and playing guitar and piano on my social media platforms (Tik Tok, Instagram, and Facebook). My first original song, “Convivial” (a love song I wrote about my boyfriend), will be released on January 6th, 2023. It will appear on all music streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, YouTube, etc.). People would find this song adorable and catchy to sing, so they can do a cover to sing for their boyfriends/girlfriends worldwide.

My music is very personal and relatable; people would appreciate that they aren’t the only ones going through tough times. Nobody is alone. I want to help others feel like they have power with my music, overcoming their dark side and fighting their inner battles. My goal is to inspire others so that people will find my songs motivating and feel like they are strong no matter what hardships life throws at them. Like Kelly Clarkson says, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

Anything to add here?

“Don’t forget, my first original song, “Convivial,” will be released on January 6th, 2023, on all music streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, YouTube, etc.). Shoutout to my boyfriend, Daniel Madeson, for being my rock and biggest supporter through my musical journey by teaching my guitar/piano and helping me with the distribution process of releasing my first song!

Shoutout to my two Voice Coaches, Samantha Cole, and Marilyn Ramirez, for believing in me, giving me excellent guidance to improve my singing, and giving me a great opportunity to perform! Shoutout to AJ Gundell and Samantha Cole for teaching me a lot about songwriting, from the Notebook to the Stage Singer/Songwriter class (I highly recommend new musicians to take the course). Shoutout to Jim Moriarty for accompanying me for my song “Shadows Within Me” and allowing me to sing for his church choir at the First Congregational Church of Danbury, CT. Shoutout to my bandmates from SplatterHead for being so supportive and a great team to have. I’m excited to get out there gigging with you all!

And lastly, to all my family and friends who have supported my career change to pursue music. You can all follow me on social media so you can stay updated for more original music and when mine and SplatterHead’s upcoming shows are! Not to mention, my stage name will be Jessi Rose, and you can find me on my socials below as well. I appreciate all of your support!
