What is your daily motivation throughout all your current musical activity?

“Music is energy, emotion, and expression – and that’s what drives me every day. I wake up with melodies in my head, and I go to sleep still hearing rhythms play out in my mind. What motivates me is the idea that one song can truly connect with someone — lift their mood, make them dance, or even bring back a memory. Creating something that resonates with others is the biggest reward. It’s not just about sound; it’s about impact. I also have this constant curiosity — “What if I try this chord? What if I flip that rhythm?” That creative hunger keeps me going, track after track.”

Who would you love to collaborate with if given the opportunity?

“There are so many inspiring artists out there, but if I could pick a dream collaboration, I’d love to work with producers like Purple Disco Machine or Kaytranada — artists who really know how to bring groove, soul, and modern energy into their tracks. And of course, working with someone like CeCe Peniston, whose voice shaped part of dance music history, would be an absolute dream. I love combining organic elements like vocals, piano, and percussion with electronic textures — and a great collaboration can elevate that even further.”

What can you say about how you began this journey as a musician?

“I started out like many — drawn to rhythms at an early age, making beats, playing records, soaking up all kinds of genres. My background is deeply rooted in hip hop, soul, and Latin music, which still influences the way I produce. Over time, I evolved from being a beatmaker to becoming a more rounded producer, shaping full compositions and soundscapes. This
journey hasn’t been a straight line — it’s been a mix of exploration, experimenting, setbacks, and breakthroughs. But every step led me closer to finding my true sound.”

Do you believe there is something unique about your music and what makes it so?

“I’d say yes — and I believe that comes from the blend of styles I bring into the mix. My music carries the heartbeat of soul, the bounce of house, and the textures of electronic influences, all wrapped in a strong melodic structure. I focus deeply on feel and groove — it should move you, both physically and emotionally. I’m not chasing trends. I want my sound to be authentic, recognizable, and timeless. Even when I use modern production tools, the musical core stays warm, human, and heartfelt.

Listeners often tell me that my tracks feel both familiar and fresh, which I take as a big compliment. What I aim for is this: when someone hears a Johnny Ferno track, they instantly know it’s mine — not because it sounds the same as the last one, but because it sounds true.”

What can you say about your most recent collaborations to date?

“Right now, I’m mainly focused on developing my solo sound, but I’m always open to the right creative match. I’m currently working on new material that explores deeper textures and more surprising musical turns. The goal is always to move the listener, whether it’s through melody, energy, or something unexpected in the arrangement. I see future collaborations not as features, but as conversations — creative exchanges that bring out the best in both sides.”

Where can we hear more, and why should people be listening to your new musical releases? What makes your music iconic for the times?

My music is available on all major platforms — Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, SoundCloud, and more. The next release is set for September 5th, and it builds on the foundation of groove, melody, and emotional connection that I’m shaping as my signature sound.

I believe people should listen if they’re craving a fresh blend of groove, melody, and soulful energy — music that respects the past but also dares to sound new. In a time when algorithms often dictate what we hear, I aim to create tracks driven by intention, not just trend.

Music that feels good, sounds sharp, and lasts longer than a scroll. I think people are craving music with real feeling, even in a digital world. That’s what I aim to deliver — something danceable, yes, but also timeless. Tracks that can light up a room but also stay with you afterwards.”

Anything to add here?

“Just a big thank you for the chance to share my story. This is only the beginning for Johnny Ferno. I’ve got more releases lined up, new ideas brewing, and the motivation to keep evolving — not just as a producer, but as an artist. I’d love to connect with anyone who feels the music, who sees the potential, and who wants to join the journey. I’m grateful for every
listener who takes the time to discover my music. The response so far has been incredibly motivating, and it’s only the beginning. I’m focused, I’m evolving, and I’m here to stay.

Also, I’ve realized how important it is to invest your energy in the right places. I joined several online music communities recently, hoping to connect, share, and grow. Some were surprisingly inactive or not as inspiring as expected — which is fine. It’s all part of the journey. I believe in moving where the energy is. You don’t have to force connections — just
stay open, real, and ready for the right ones to come your way. Let’s see what the future holds — with rhythm, fire, and soul.
