Q&A
How did the concept of 7 Rising first come to life?
“I started 7 Rising as a solo project adjacent to other projects that I was part of. It enabled me to focus on what I wanted to do as opposed to how things come together in bands.”
What inspired you to pursue electronic and synth-driven music?
“I was inspired to pursue electronic music because of my love of synthesizers. I love how with synthesis the sonic possibilities are endless. They are only tethered by your imagination.”

What elements do you feel separate 7 Rising from other synth-pop and electronic artists?
“Where I try to separate myself from other electronic acts is the focus on the core songwriting and the process by which I create. For me the song always comes first. I try not to get distracted by fancy sounds, because in doing that I think the core song can get lost. This is why I write on piano or guitar and then build the song around that. Also, vocals are key in my music. With a lot of electronic music this just isn’t the case.”
How do you know when a song is finished?
“A song is never finished, it is only abandoned.”
Where can we hear more of your music, and why should we?
“You can find a lot of my current work on most any streaming platform. I would hope people would check it out and give it a chance.”
Anything to add here?
“I appreciate the opportunity!”
