Rick Lance is a proud U.S. Navy veteran who dedicates himself to voice acting, better known as, ‘The Voice of Americana’.
His business slogan, ‘serving the basic industries that keep America moving’ shows the pure Americana behind this voice talent, deserving real American recognition.
What was the turning point in your voice career, when you realized you had the potential for that line of work?
“Well… I came to Nashville, Tennessee, many years ago, to excel in country music, and to move to the next level as a singer/songwriter/performer.
Since I was working in Nashville singing demos for songwriters, as well as for personal projects, I began to perfect my studio technique.
I happened to be singing a demo session in 1993,
when a script was passed to me in the recording booth to ‘read’, and not to sing.
It was for a local TV ad that needed a voice.
I spent about an hour trying to get it right for the client in the room. I’m sure it was mediocre at best, but it worked!
I made 100.00 dollars that day, and that was my first voice-over.”
As a voice actor, referred to as ‘The Voice of Americana’, do clients and listeners alike generally tend to appreciate your work?
“As described by my clients, my colleagues, agents, and others, my voice is rich, raw, rural, deep and earthy, gritty, gravelly, warm and rugged, a working-man blue-collar type sound, and sometimes cowboy-like, when that is needed.”
Is there a message that you could send to those who live in your country, and others as well who would find interest in your services?
“If you would like to have your message delivered by a truly All-American, ruff-and-ready guy, who can breathe a little life and a lotta gut-and-soul into your script, then you should consider what I have to offer.
