Ron Jackson- Sunday Evening Jazz (April 2021)

Issue Twelve- April 2021:

By Mercedes Barreto

Being a jazz musician is always trying to find a way of creating one’s own music and identity. Ron Jackson works with practicing, writing music, composing, videotaping, and recording music.

What are some things you have achieved in 2020? What do you plan on achieving or doing in 2021?

“Since the pandemic, I really built up my social media profiles, online presence, and live stream performances. I will book a tour at the end of the year in the USA and release a new album.”

If you could share a campaign, song, event, etc. with a large audience, what would be that content in particular that you would share?

“I would share my weekly show on Instagram, Sunday Evening Jazz.”

What are some new interesting updates, both relevant to your work and your passion for jazz guitar?

“I am planning to release a new album at the end of 2021 and a new Patreon account featuring 6+7 string guitar.”

Would you change anything about this year and how it’s gone so far? Including Covid but not only specifically regarding the pandemic?

“I would just try to connect more with my friends and music colleagues.”

If you could describe new changes in your music, in your work, or your life generally, what are some words that would describe those changes?

“I have been filming a lot more video than ever before and I’m getting really good at it. I would say, DIY, staying at home, keeping safe, and working at home.”

Is there a message you would like to share with a reading audience regarding something you have overcome this year so far? Whether it may be work-related or not?

“What I need to overcome is not being dependent on making a living on live performances.”
