What is the journey like for actors and performers to the top of the industry scale? Is this journey tedious or an exciting one, full of unexpected challenges & obstacles, or incredible surprises? We read about Rose Emanuel and her climb to success in this guided yet informative read.
What has been the highlight of 2022 for you? What makes this year something to share?
“Other than finally being married to my soulmate, the growth I have seen in my live streaming journey and production company has been extremely rewarding and I’m so excited to see what the rest of the year will bring.”
If you could share with the world just one monologue, one that has resonated with an audience or judging panel, and one that you enjoy in some way, what monologue would you choose, and why so?
“Oh wow, that’s a really tough one.. this is going to sound very odd but Quint’s Speech from Jaws has been one of my favorite monologues ever written. I guess it doesn’t resonate really with an audience however, as an actor, the performance of that monologue is outstanding. It’s fearful, it’s emotional, it’s dead-pan emotion, it’s an outstanding performance. The way the monologue is written is also so crisp. Yes, it’s about a shark but the way the story telling goes hand in hand is bloody brilliant and it is always my go to monologue in an audition.”
When you think about the progress you’ve made along the way in recent times, how do you believe that your practice, or your efforts, have played a role in such improvement? Why is practice or participation important? Does everything just happen overnight?
“Practice makes perfect. Patience makes perfect. I’ve been studying and working in this industry since I was 4. I’ve been a determined little sod ever since I left the womb (that’s what my mother likes to say). I think the determination and the 110% I put in have definitely played a massive role in an improvement with my craft and just my learning capabilities of the industry itself. Practice is so important. Whether you’re in a class or on set as an extra but with a main focus to learn how everything works and not just stand there or walk on screen. You have to be a sponge and absorb everything. It will help you grow and help you understand more than one angle of the industry.
Nothing at all happens over night and I really wish people would understand how hard you truly have to work and trust the process. Never give up.”
If you could pick the ideal place to get work in the acting industry, do you believe it’s necessary to live in a larger city like Los Angeles or New York, in order to have more chances at a casting opportunity? Or do you find it much easier, or smarter, even, to live in a less crowded and not so urban town or environment, where the opportunities might be more in supply but less in demand?
“This question is quite funny to me because I’ve been torn up about it. I think if you set your mind to it, you can do it anywhere. However, you have to be ready to travel. This job requires a lot of travel at the drop of the dime but if you want something, you go and get it.”
Where, why and how did you get your start in this profession? Were you young or old, experienced or novice, backed by a family and lineage of actors or a fresh page? Why is that the start that marked everything for you?
“I was 4 years old when I told my parents they couldn’t stop me from being an actress. I was instantly put into an acting class, which led to me being put with an agency and that led to my audition at Sylvia Young Theatre School which pretty much changed my life.”
Can you tell us something about your life as an official Tik Toker?
“It’s wicked. It’s weird that it’s a title but it’s brilliant at the same time. Two years ago when I signed my first live streaming contract for a much smaller app, I told myself “I would love to see this pan out to receiving a contract from Tiktok”.
2 years and a lot of hard work later, that contract presented itself and I couldn’t be more grateful. I have a really incredible and growing fan base, all of which know I’m an actor and continue to push me to the bigger goal. The opportunities that have also come from this are beyond my wildest dreams. Couldn’t be more thankful.”
Where can we learn more about all of your upcoming and recent projects, and more than that, why should we? Why is Rose Emanuel a star to be seen?
“A lot of it is under wraps right now, we’re just coming out of the lock down and starting to grab ahold of the reins again. Let me tell you something, when I’m finally allowed to talk about it, you will be so excited you’ll piss your trousers. I’ve always wanted to be in the spotlight, I just feel I belong there. A lot of people tell me I’m a very positive influence and inspire them, which is one of my happiest compliments. I want to be a force in this industry that brings quality and unique content and portraying many different roles that will test and grow my acting abilities throughout the years to come.”
