What inspired the band? What makes the concept unique?
“We started in 2007. In their respective times, both disco and hair metal had taken over the culture but eventually imploded and became a joke in peoples’ minds. Neither genre had made its comeback at that point, so we thought it would be really funny to do a show that merged these two genres. It was funny, but then it became so much more than that. By bringing these two disparate styles together, we brought about world peace and sexual liberation. You’re welcome!
There are some kick-ass metal and hard rock bands out there, but they all neglected to devote themselves to reinventing Bee Gees and other disco and soft-rock classics. This is what makes us unique, and frankly, superior.”
Where are some recent venues played? Where would you be honored to play?
“Our most recent show was at Daryl’s House. Such grand history in that place! We just got back from playing all over Europe during the summer – from festivals with tens of thousands of people, like Wacken, Rockharz and Summer Breeze in Germany, to village festivals and clubs all over the UK/western Europe. We would be honored to play at Lance’s funeral. (He’s our towelboy. And he’s an idiot).”
What motivates the band on and off set? Why and how so?
“When we do a Tragedy cover of a song, we always need it to be worthwhile reinvention, otherwise why not just listen to the original? We’re already super famous and everyone wants to be like us. But to remain on top, we constantly make our riffs hotter, our jokes stupider and our pants tighter.”

If you could collaborate with 3 of any industry music executives, who are you working with?
“Who are those people on The Voice? Are they executives? They have really cool chairs.”
What are some upcoming advancements for the band?
“We are beginning work on a new album, even introducing some original compositions. And we’re planning tours for 2026 in N America and Europe.”
Where can we hear more from this band, and why should we? What makes them an iconic band?
“Our sites and socials are all LetsMakeTragedyHappen. We have like ten albums on Spotify. Our YouTube videos are pretty sweet. What makes us so iconic is our enormous egos.”
Anything to add here?
“With Tragedy you have to be smart enough to get it…and dumb enough to like it!”

Questions for the photographer:
What makes this band a special experience?
“I shot this band at Daryl’s House knowing only that they were a heavy metal act. I love to shoot HM bands. I soon find out these guys are not your average HM band but do covers of the Bee Gees, among others, with an HM twist. This band was one of the best bands I have ever heard at Daryl’s House. Their musicianship was top-notch, vocals and harmonies were amazing, and their stage act was such that you could not look away. They definitely had their routine well-rehearsed. And the photos I took were some of the best I have ever done since they gave me so much to work with.”
Do you recommend??
“Any fan of the Bee Gees, Heavy Metal, searing guitars, and vocal harmonies MUST experience this band the next chance they get.”
