To portray a feeling or a tone, a character of choice, in a certain instance, is an art. The sudden behaviors, the moods in which such role dictates a change in your character’s expression, to a certain degree, require the mastering of such skill. It is no exception for its utilization in modeling. Model Ashley Hopgood utilizes this skill in her work and guides us through her modeling aspirations in this article.

What motivates your drive to model, and what is your vision for the future, career-wise?

“Art has been my passion for connecting with the world. I communicate more so directly about love, life, peace, joy, and solitude through the photos I take and the roles I portray.”

Has Covid had any effect on your routine, your schedule, or plans you have made, regarding your career or life in general?

“Covid really shook things up! But in some ways, constructively. Covid assisted me in the online auditioning platform (via zoom, Skype). It was helpful for Talent Directors as well because it saved everyone the commute. Also, I was able to connect with talent directors all over the globe in one place at one time.”

How did you start your modeling profession? And why so, and how?

“I began my modeling/acting journey at age 15. I’ve always been a creator and drawn to art, so at 15 I made the leap to an acting/modeling school. It was one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made!”

What are just three words that describe the before and after, the transition in your modeling career, if applicable?

“That’s a tough one – staggering, blossoming, and continual.”

How successfully leveled do you see yourself? In a given time span? What is true success to you, and what does it mean? In a career, or in modeling?

“I see myself as a little implosive and explosive. I wouldn’t be surprised if something unexpected and amazing were to suddenly happen at any given moment. I see myself as successful because I’m at peace with who I was, where I am, and where I’m going. That’s what success is: peace, love, and remaining open to learning no matter what status or age.”

“Continue to push forward. Don’t allow feelings of defeat to occupy space in your life. Life is a gift. And a journey. You’re never too old and it’s not too late.”
