When you have a gift in your profession, how do you know it, and can that lead you to success in that industry? Christine Sclafani is an Actress, Producer, Spokesperson, Host, and Model who shares her gifts with us in this guided yet informative rising talent article.

Christine Sclafani was born in Paterson, New Jersey and was raised in South Florida. A professional Actress, Producer, Spokesperson, Host, and Model, the never camera-shy beauty started modeling in her late teens out of Miami, FL for several swimwear, sportswear and lingerie companies. In addition, Christine was featured in numerous magazines such as Harley Davidson, Swimwear Illustrated, Bikes and Beauties, and Playboy just to name a few. Her love for the camera was undeniable. With the desire and drive to pursue a career in “Showbiz” she moved to New York City to study dance and theater. Since then, Christine has studied with the finest acting coaches in Los Angeles. Along with acting in a few notable TV series such as Black Monday, Scandal and LOPEZ, she’s gone on to produce a TV Series, a few short films and shares a love for photography, cinematography, directing and the making of films. Christine is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild/AFTRA and Women in Film.

What initiated your love and passion for acting and modeling, and where did this start?

“My passion for entertainment started when I was a little girl. Growing up, you could catch me singing in the mirror with my big round brush as my microphone or impersonating someone that fascinated or impacted me. I was far from a singer; I couldn’t hold a tune. I remember singing in the bathtub as a kid and my mother running in to ask if I was ok (she thought I was in pain, I sounded so horrible). But that didn’t stop me from thinking I was still a rockstar and wanted to perform in some facet. People who had character fascinated me. I would study their body language and the way they spoke. Then, I would impersonate them. I would also reenact my favorite scenes out of the movies, mostly in front of my family or anyone who’d watch. I used to crack my family up when reciting and reenacting a scene from the original Poltergeist. For some reason, it made them laugh. They would say, “You’re such an actress, Chrissy”.

What are some highlights for 2022, and what is in store for 2023? Can you give us a few words to inform your reading
audience with something special or unique regarding these future advances?

“2022: Along with auditioning, I’m the Producer and Voice-Over Host for the TV series, “America’s Dog Rescue”.
“STORAGE” is a short film I Produced and has been winning accolades at the film festivals.

2023: I’m developing two passion projects at the start of 2023.

Does acting and modeling run in the family for you? Or would you consider yourself the odd one out in the family regarding a passion that is special to you that you don’t share in your family tree?

“No, I’m the only entertainer in the family, but my father is a talented solidified drummer and had a band growing up called “The Chessmen”.

What has been your favorite project you have ever done in acting, modeling, hosting, and with who? Why and how so?

“Acting: I’d say LOPEZ. Working with George Lopez, Snoop Dogg, and Moronzio Vance was epic. Modeling: Playboy. It was the most liberating thing I’ve ever done, and it was an honor to grace the pages and several issues of Playboy. Hosting: TNMNews. It’s educational and changing how the world views Marijuana and its medicinal purposes”.

When modeling, acting, or speaking, do you get nervous, personally? In your opinion, how does a professional cope with nervousness, and why is this your way of dealing with pre-show stress?

“It’s a mindset. Although it’s natural to be nervous or have butterflies in your stomach, I control my nerves through breath, meditation, and reminding myself, “I got this.” Staying “ready” or always prepared helps to remain calmer as well, in my opinion”.
