Housing Opportunities Project for Excellence (HOPE), Inc. is a non-profit that fights housing discrimination in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, Florida. They tell people about their rights, and if people think that they’re facing discrimination, they can reach out to them and they help them out – usually either through referrals to related services or investigations that lead to lawsuits.
What do you believe people think of first when the words Hope Inc. come to mind?
“It could be a wide range of things, from civil rights, fair housing, housing discrimination, to “what’s HOPE, Inc.”?”
What is one case in which Hope Inc. was the solution to a conflict? How may someone in a similar situation get this help also if need be?
“We were able to hold a housing complex responsible for discrimination. People can call us if they believe they’re facing discrimination – (305) 651-4673.”
If someone does not know about Hope Inc., what would be something you might say or information provided to inform them?
“Please call us if you think you are facing discrimination in housing, or if you want to know more about your rights and responsibilities under fair housing laws – (305) 651-4673.”
How do people show their gratification, due to your organization’s efforts?
“People say thank you! People can say thank you.
But whether people are able to say thank you or not, we are happy to be able to do our work!”
Is there a message to those who need a solution and resolution for housing discrimination?
“Please call us if you think you are facing discrimination in housing, or if you want to know more about your rights and responsibilities under fair housing laws – (305) 651-4673.”
