Every sound is technically unique, what with all variables of such a sound. However, for a sound to be truly unique, it must convey that feeling of only oneness. Kookie Fox most certainly conveys that feeling, in her music and in her works. We read up on her musical aspirations as a musician and more, as witnessed here in this guided and informative article.
Your music is extremely unique. What do you feel was the initiation of your music, in which you inspired this uniqueness?
“Thank you! I’ve been writing songs since I was 5 or 6 years old, I think I’ve always had a certain sound. Even when I try to sound like an artist I admire, I still sound like me. I didn’t always love that about myself, but I’m learning to embrace the unique.”
Would you say you have a special way of being when you perform on set, in a music video, when compared to the realities of life when amongst family, loved ones, and friends? Is there a difference on and offset? Do you put on a different face on video, and on set? Or is there a true authenticity in your music videos and such interpretations?
“I would say I absolutely put on a different energy. I’ve watched a lot of interviews with successful celebrities, and they all tend to have an alter-ego for when they have to be their own artistic selves. There is always authenticity because that alter-ego is still me. It’s still part of who I am, just a version of myself with more confidence, talent, and energy.”
Has Covid affected your ability to play, pursue, and perform? Or your schedule in general?
“Covid has affected everything, I’m ready for her to leave. But I’m very thankful for social media since it reaches more people especially now that we’re all home due to Covid.”
What would be three words that describe your passion? What makes it different from the rest?
“Dedication, Creation, Good Vibes. My passion is different because I don’t always have it present. Being an artist is a state of flux, sometimes I don’t feel like a musician at all. But when I can channel my creative energy into a song, something magical happens and I’ve created something new.”
