Natasha B.- Love This Band (Rising Artist & Band) (February 2022)

Issue Twenty Two- February 2022:

By Mercedes Barreto

What is strength and power in singing? What is unison in band music? How do these elements combine for pristine performance? Natasha B. is an artist that vocalizes with her band to bring us some impactful music that you will enjoy. You can read up on their latest and most recent aspirations in this guided, yet informative article.

What is music to you? As a band?

“Music to me is my love, my best friend and my therapy. It means so much to me to be able to express my thoughts and feelings. I love music! I love that when I’m feeling happy, sad, confused, angry, or even excited, I can find a song that fits my mood no matter what and that helps me in certain moments in life.”

When did the band start?

“I have been writing and recording music since 2008. I have been in several bands since I was 15. Natasha B band is the first band that has used my name as the front line. They believe in me and my music which is amazing. I have been with these guys since 2017. They have been so supportive. And I love this band!”

What is a song that resonates most with the band, and the listening audience overall? Why and how so?

The song that most people react to, which is like our signature song we end our set with, is not an original. Actually, it is the song ‘What’s up’ by 4 non blondes. The audience requests it all the time and we play it every set as the ending song. Which, it’s very cool that the people like the way we do it. As far as my original music for me, it’s my song “Bye Bye Baby”, which is also the name of the album. Many people have remembered that song and sing along to it. It’s pretty cool.”

Where would be the ideal venue to perform a 2 hour show, and why is this?

“I would love to do a 2 hour set at The Chance theatre in Poughkeepsie, NY as a headliner some day. This is because I have seen so many famous artist play there, and I dream one day to be up there, too. Another reason is that people go there for music to hear music, and it’s not like, for example, playing at a bar, where people come to socialize with music in the background. I know many venues where I would love to play a set like that. The bitterend in NYC, the mid Hudson civic center (the name has changed).

And many more just to name a few.”

What would be the preferred overall outcome regarding success for the band in a few years time?
In 2022 later on?

“I would like to see me and my band play more shows and play at bigger venues. I would like to gain more followers and build a bigger fan base. I have started recording my fourth album which I plan to release in 2022. So that’s very exciting!”

Where can we find your music, and why should we, overall? What makes this band special?

“You can find my music on all digital downloading platforms- iTunes/apple music, Amazon music, Spotify, YouTube, Pandora, etc. People should search for Natasha Barnes (not Natasha B). Check my music out, because it’s real and it’s original, and written by me. It’s alternative rock/pop rock. It tells many stories of me and my life.”

Questions For The Photographer-

What was the theme of this shoot? How and why so?

“The theme if you want to all it that was a xmasbash put on by Vern Room, who has been featured here in the magazine before, held at one of the premier venues in the area The Chance. Natasha was one of the acts on the 7 band bill. I had heard of her before but really knew nothing about her or her music. She rocked the place that’s for sure, with a powerful voice and band.”

Would you recommend the band to other venues and shoots in the future? Why is this so?

“If asked, I would highly recommend other venues to use Natasha as a headline act. It was a very powerful performance and voice as well. Her band is excellent and they back her flawlessly.”
