When you hear a vibe on the radio or when you stream music, what is that wow factor that makes you want more? What makes you click the purchase or download button these days? TNB MJ is a hip-hop artist who is totally worth every cent on your download, daily. We read more on his aspirations and musical craft in this guided, interesting article.
What does music mean to you, in its essential entirety? What would life be like without it?
“Life without music would be no life at all. I feel like music gave me a sense of prominence and it gave me an outlet to be creative and productive. Most of the time it’s therapeutic, so when I’m going through something, I’ve always listened to music to take my mind off of it.”
Where do you seek your inspiration, or how do you find it? How does this reflect in your musical work, regarding what inspired you to write a certain set of lyrics or the beat in mind?
“My inspiration is drawn from my life experiences and other artists, listening to some of my favorite rappers and dissecting their music, which definitely fuels my inspiration. That, in turn, allows me to create from a competitive standpoint. I basically want to be on the same level as my favorite artists, which inspires me to go harder.”
What are just two words you would use to describe your success so far, and what defines success for your career and in its future? Why and how so?
Actually, I have three words to describe my success.
“Nothing but GOD”. This is because, without my faith in the higher power, I wouldn’t be where I’m at in life, as well as with music, so I’m grateful to God for the opportunity to be here and for being able to do what I love to do. Success to me has always been being able to do what you love freely and happily because most successful individuals have the success and money but they’re not happy. Can you really even call that success if you can’t enjoy it?”
If you could pick three pro music industry executives to pitch a song to, who would be those top executives of your choice, and what song would you pitch, if this pitch could take you to levels of all-star fame?
“Dr Dre, Jay-Z and Top Dawg Entertainment and I would pitch one of my favorite songs that I’ve done in 2019, and it’s regarded as my best song. It’s entitled “TIME” from my Goat Talk Album because it’s a big record and it checks all the boxes on lyricism, it flows, it has originality and longevity.”
What is the one song you have composed and created which you feel most resonates with your listening audience? Why is this so?
“GREAT, which is the 6th track off of my 2019 project, Goat Talk because it embodies an individual that comes from hardship, poverty, gang-infested neighborhoods and decides that it is time for him to make a better life for himself by putting his best foot forward to be his greatest at his respective craft and become successful at it.”
Where can we find TNB MJ’s musical workings, but most of all, why should we? What makes your musical works stand out, and why?
“My music is everywhere on all platforms. Google Play, Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify, and I recommend my music heavily because I am a generational talent, which means artists like me come around once a generation. I’m one of the first young rappers under 25 who’s a top-tier lyricist that can make turn-up bangers that are enjoyable. I can freestyle, I can rap on old and new school beats, and lastly, I’m here to push the culture forward. So, it’s more about impacting HipHop than it is about me, to be honest.”

“Redemption Album drops in November, and the singles ‘Back On Road’, ‘Pressure’, ‘Mon$ter In Moncler’ & ‘Outside’ are available on all platforms worldwide now. MJ Flair album drops in December. I am a part of the upcoming reality Tv show on Roku TV, entitled, “Who’s Up Next” and we are currently filming, so look out for that in 2022. Merchandise is also coming soon.
